Reading 1 BIOS HD...

Post by kracor »

Decided it was time to take down my Windows 7 64bit desktop this weekend. Got all of my data backed up and put in my Bare Metal CD and rebooted. The computer tried to launch BIBM, but hung after the following check "Reading 1 BIOS hard drive to gather data for SATA Bias Option.... Completed. Used this same disc to rework my laptop computer just a few days ago, so not sure what is happening. Any clues? Thanks.

Do you have any external hard disks powered up when you try to boot? I
had this ages ago, but for the life of me cannot recall what caused
it.

could be video mode or mouse issue - try creating it without mouse .. then
in a different video mode.

.... also try a UFD instead of CD as some BIOSes CD emulation support isn't
so great.

@DrT...

No external HD's connected at the time. I have two internal drives and when both are connected, it sees them both, but cannot get past this particular msg.

@Terabyte Support

Will burn a new CD with different mouse and video settings and see what happens.

Copied from another thread after I resolved my own issue with it hanging at sata bias

"I ran into this problem when moving a HDD from a Dell E6420 I3 to a E6420 I7 . BootitBM media wouldn't even let me into partition work on the install with issues, so I brought it to another BIBM install and changed my video method from "0" to "1" and viola, its working again.

Hope this helps."
