The TeraByte web site may log IP addresses, domain names, referrers, and other visitor information.  This information is used to analyze trends, administer the web site, track site navigation, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.

Disclosure of Personally Identifying Information
TeraByte may hire or use other companies to provide limited services on its behalf, including, but not limited to, packaging, mailing and delivering purchases, and answering customer questions.  We will only provide those companies the information they need to deliver the applicable service(s).  The companies are required to maintain the confidentiality of the information and are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.

We may also disclose your personally identifying information to third parties if required to do so by law, or if such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with legal processes such as a search warrant, subpoena, or court order;
  • Protect our rights and property; or
  • Protect against misuse or unauthorized use of our web site and/or software products.

Except as otherwise described in this statement, your personal information will not be shared outside of TeraByte.  We do not sell, loan, or rent your personally identifying information to third parties.

Cookies
A cookie (also called HTTP cookie, web cookie, Internet cookie, or browser cookie) is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on your computer system by your web browser. Cookies were designed to be a reliable mechanism for websites to remember stateful information (such as items added to the shopping cart or maintaining the login state of a users account). Cookies can last only while you are browsing a site, called a Session cookie, or some period of time as set by the website, called a Persistent cookie.

This web site uses cookies necessary for the proper functioning of the shopping cart, user forums, and help desk. It also uses a 45 day cookie when an affiliate link is used to access the site. This cookie contains no personally identifying information and is used to give credit to an affiliate should a sale be generated.

You may also find third-party cookies from Google Ads and/or Bing Ads. Their purpose is explained below:

Google Ads:

“Sometimes advertising cookies may be set on the domain of the site you’re visiting. In the case of advertising we serve across the web, cookies (e.g., cookies named ‘__gads’ or ‘__gac’) may be set on the domain of the site you’re visiting. Unlike cookies that are set on Google’s own domains, these cookies can’t be read by Google when you’re on a site other than the one on which they were set. They serve purposes such as measuring interactions with the ads on that domain and preventing the same ads from being shown to you too many times.

Google also uses conversion cookies (e.g., cookies named ‘__gcl’), whose main purpose is to help advertisers determine how many times people who click on their ads end up taking an action on their site (e.g., making a purchase). These cookies allow Google and the advertiser to determine that you clicked the ad and later visited the advertiser’s site. Conversion cookies are not used by Google for personalized ad targeting and persist for a limited time only. Some of our other cookies may be used to measure conversion events as well. For example, Google Marketing Platform and Google Analytics cookies may also be used for this purpose.”

Bing Ads:

“This advertiser uses Bing Ads to promote their business online. To more effectively market their product or service, this advertiser uses a small text file known as a cookie to record the completion of your transaction. Bing Ads wants to assure you that any information that is gathered will remain anonymous and cannot be used to identify you.

Browsers, such as Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, let you delete cookies and choose what types of cookies you want to allow on your computer. Please check Help for your browser to learn how to delete cookies or change the privacy level on your computer.”

If you don’t like the idea of cookies or certain types of cookies, you can change your browser’s settings to delete cookies that have already been set and to not accept new cookies. Check the support website for your browser to learn more about how to do this. However, if you delete cookies or do not accept them, you might not be able to use parts of the web site.
