To correct this issue:<\/p>\r\n  <ul>\r\n    <li>Make sure that you are logged into Windows&nbsp;with Administrator privileges. <\/li>\r\n    <li>Try a different diskette. Perform a full format on it first, to ensure its integrity. <\/li>\r\n  <\/ul>\r\n  <p>If the BootIt NG diskette creator (i.e. <strong>MakeDisk<\/strong>, <strong>BOOTITNG.EXE<\/strong>) cannot find or write to the floppy drive at all, and you are using Windows 2000\/XP\/Vista\/Windows 7, you may be blocked from accessing the floppy drive due to security settings. <\/p>\r\n  <p>To solve this issue:<\/p>\r\n  <p>Go into the <strong>Local Security Settings<\/strong> or <strong>Local Security Policies<\/strong> applet and check status the <strong>Devices: Restrict floppy access to locally logged-on user only<\/strong> setting. You can find this applet in the Control Panel under <em>Administrative Tools &gt;&gt; Local Security Policy<\/em>. Expand <strong>Local Polices<\/strong> and then click on <strong>Security Options<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n  <p>If this setting is enabled,&nbsp;you must either:<\/p>\r\n  <ol>\r\n    <li>Disable this security setting, reboot the computer, and then either log in as a member of the Administrators group, or use the &quot;<font color=\"#ff0000\">\/runas \/user:Administrator<\/font>&quot; command to run <strong>MakeDisk<\/strong> or <strong>BOOTITNG.EXE<\/strong>; or<br \/><br \/><\/li>\r\n    <li>Leave the security setting enabled and log in as a member of the Administrators group&nbsp;the normal way (i.e. not using the &quot;<font color=\"#ff0000\">runas<\/font>&quot; command) before running <strong>MakeDisk<\/strong> or <strong>BOOTITNG.EXE<\/strong>. <\/li>\r\n  <\/ol>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This problem can occur if you do not have the necessary privileges in Windows and also if the diskette is faulty.
