This includes an Administrator Command Prompt, Image for Windows, etc.<\/p>\r\n  <p>In Windows 10, this issue can also be caused by the KB4013429 update, which added a regression that broke support for the drives.<\/p>\r\n  <p><strong><font color=\"#ff5500\">Solution:<\/font><\/strong><\/p>\r\n  <p>The UNC path (&#92;&#92;Server&#92;Share) should be used instead of a mapped drive.<\/p>\r\n  <p>If using Windows 10, make sure the system is updated current (the issue with KB4013429 was fixed in later updates).<\/p>\r\n  <p>Alternatively, the EnableLinkedConnections registry entry can be set to allow the mapped drives to be shared between sessions:<\/p>\r\n  <p><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n  <ol>\r\n    <li>Run the Registry Editor.<br \/>\r\n      <br \/>\r\n    <\/li>\r\n    <li>Browse to the following location:<br \/> <font color=\"#008800\" face=\"Courier New, Courier, monospace\"><strong>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE&#92;SOFTWARE&#92;Microsoft&#92;Windows&#92;<br \/>\r\n      CurrentVersion&#92;Policies&#92;System<\/strong><\/font><br \/>\r\n      <br \/>\r\n    <\/li>\r\n    <li>Make sure <font color=\"#008800\" face=\"Courier New, Courier, monospace\"><strong>System<\/strong><\/font> is selected.<br \/>\r\n      <br \/>\r\n    <\/li>\r\n    <li>Right-click in an empty area of the right side where the registry entries are displayed and select <strong>New<\/strong> from the menu (or click the <strong>Edit<\/strong> menu and select <strong>New<\/strong>).<br \/>\r\n      <br \/>\r\n    <\/li>\r\n    <li>From the <strong>New<\/strong> menu, select the <strong>DWORD (32-bit) Value<\/strong> option.<br \/>\r\n      <br \/>\r\n    <\/li>\r\n    <li>Enter <strong>EnableLinkedConnections<\/strong> for the name.<br \/>\r\n      <br \/>\r\n    <\/li>\r\n    <li>Double-click the <strong>EnableLinkedConnections<\/strong> entry you just created to open it.<br \/>\r\n      <br \/>\r\n    <\/li>\r\n    <li>Enter <strong>1<\/strong> into the <strong>Value data<\/strong> box and then click <strong>OK<\/strong> to close the dialog.<br \/>\r\n      <br \/>\r\n    <\/li>\r\n    <li>Restart Windows to apply the change.<\/li>\r\n  <\/ol>\r\n  <p><strong>Note:<\/strong> If you are using Group Policy Preference or logon scripts to map network drives during logon, the mapped drives may still not be available after using the above instructions.
