The menu may be displayed even if only one version of Windows is installed. Additionally, the menu is displayed when booting Windows from BootIt BM or BootIt UEFI.<\/p>\r\n  <p><strong><font color=\"#ff5500\">Cause:<\/font><\/strong> <\/p>\r\n  <p>A duplicate or undesired boot menu item exists in the Windows BCD file. For example, this entry may have been left over from a previous multi-boot setup or boot repair.<\/p>\r\n  <p><strong><font color=\"#ff5500\">Solution:<\/font><\/strong><\/p>\r\n  <p>Remove the undesired menu item from the Windows boot menu. This procedure can be done from BootIt BM (Legacy booting systems), BootIt UEFI (UEFI booting systems), or directly from Windows.<\/p>\r\n  <p><font color=\"#005858\"><strong>Using BootIt BM \/ BootIt UEFI<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\r\n  <p><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n  <ol>\r\n    <li>Boot to the BootIt BM or BootIt UEFI desktop.<\/li>\r\n    <li>Click on <strong>Partition Work<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n    <li>Select the booting drive for the Windows installation you need to modify.<\/li>\r\n    <li>Select the booting partition. In BootIt BM, this is usually either the Windows partition or the <em>System Reserved<\/em> partition (the one set active when booted). In BootIt UEFI, this will be the EFI System partition.<\/li>\r\n    <li>Click the <strong>BCD Edit <\/strong>button.<\/li>\r\n    <li>The <strong>Menu<\/strong> items are displayed. Select the item to remove and then click the <strong>Delete<\/strong> button.<\/li>\r\n    <li>Close the <em>BCD Edit <\/em>window. Close the <em>Work with Partitions <\/em>window.<\/li>\r\n    <li>Click <strong>Resume<\/strong> on the desktop.<\/li>\r\n    <li>Select the Windows item to boot and click the <strong>Boot<\/strong> button.<\/li>\r\n  <\/ol>\r\n  <p><font color=\"#005858\"><strong>Using Windows (Vista or later)<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\r\n  <p><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n  <ol>\r\n    <li>Boot into Windows.<\/li>\r\n    <li>Press <strong>WinKey+R<\/strong> (hold down the <strong>Windows Key<\/strong> and press <strong>R<\/strong>) to bring up the <em>Run<\/em> dialog.<\/li>\r\n    <li>Type <font color=\"#008800\" face=\"Courier New, Courier, monospace\"><strong>msconfig<\/strong><\/font> into the <em>Open<\/em> box and then click <strong>OK<\/strong>. The <em>System Configuration<\/em> utility will open.<br \/>Note: If you receive a UAC prompt allow the action to continue. <\/li>\r\n    <li>Click the <strong>Boot<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\r\n    <li>Select the boot item to remove and then click the <strong>Delete<\/strong> button.<\/li>\r\n    <li>Click <strong>OK<\/strong> to close msconfig.<\/li>\r\n    <li>Click <strong>Restart<\/strong>, if prompted.
