{"id":371,"date":"2008-11-22T02:58:00","date_gmt":"2008-11-22T10:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kb.terabyteunlimited.com\/kb-articles\/system-running-kaspersky-antivirus-or-kaspersky-internet-security-freezes-when-image-for-windows-runs\/"},"modified":"2021-09-07T15:05:29","modified_gmt":"2021-09-07T22:05:29","slug":"system-running-kaspersky-antivirus-or-kaspersky-internet-security-freezes-when-image-for-windows-runs","status":"publish","type":"lsvr_kba","link":"https:\/\/www.terabyteunlimited.com\/kb\/kb-articles\/system-running-kaspersky-antivirus-or-kaspersky-internet-security-freezes-when-image-for-windows-runs\/","title":{"rendered":"System Running Kaspersky AntiVirus or Kaspersky Internet Security Freezes when Image for Windows Runs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><font color=\"#ff5500\">Problem:<\/font><\/strong><\/p>\r\n  <p>The system freezes (perhaps intermittently) when Image for Windows is running.<\/p>\r\n  <p><strong><font color=\"#ff5500\">Cause:<\/font><\/strong><\/p>\r\n  <p>Kaspersky AntiVirus or Kaspersky Internet Security is installed on the system.<br \/><\/p>\r\n  <p><strong><font color=\"#ff5500\">Solution:<\/font><\/strong><\/p>\r\n  <p>Add the Image for Windows program (imagew.exe) to the Kaspersky product's <strong>Trusted Zone<\/strong> and enable the corresponding option <strong>Do not scan opened files<\/strong>.&nbsp; This may be accomplished as follows:<\/p>\r\n  <ol>\r\n    <li>Right-click the Kaspersky product's tray icon and then select <strong>Settings<\/strong> from the menu that appears.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\r\n    <li>Select <strong>Threats and exclusions<\/strong> in the Kaspersky product's <strong>Settings<\/strong> window.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\r\n    <li>Click the <strong>Trusted zone...<\/strong> button.&nbsp; The <strong>Trusted zone<\/strong> window appears.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\r\n    <li>Click the <strong>Trusted applications<\/strong> tab in the <strong>Trusted zone<\/strong> window.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\r\n    <li>Click <strong>Add<\/strong> in the <strong>Trusted zone<\/strong> window.&nbsp; A menu appears, which will have two items: <strong>Browse...<\/strong> and <strong>Applications<\/strong>.<br \/><br \/>If Image for Windows is currently running, you may select it from the <strong>Applications<\/strong> submenu.&nbsp; Otherwise, click <strong>Browse...<\/strong> and locate the Image for Windows program (imagew.exe).&nbsp; By default, imagew.exe can be found in the folder &quot;C:&#92;Program Files&#92;TeraByte Unlimited&#92;Image for Windows&#92;V2&quot; (or &quot;C:&#92;Program Files (x86)&#92;TeraByte Unlimited&#92;Image for Windows&#92;V2&quot; on 64-bit systems).<br \/><br \/>Once you have selected imagew.exe (by either method described above), the <strong>Exclusions for application<\/strong> window will appear.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\r\n    <li>In the <strong>Exclusions for application<\/strong> window, ensure that the <strong>Do not scanned opened files<\/strong> option is selected.&nbsp; The other options shown may be left unchecked, if desired.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\r\n    <li>Click <strong>OK<\/strong> in the <strong>Exclusions for application<\/strong> window.&nbsp; The new rule should appear in the <strong>Trusted zone<\/strong> window.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\r\n    <li>Click <strong>OK<\/strong> in the <strong>Trusted zone<\/strong> window and again in the <strong>Settings<\/strong> window. <\/li>\r\n  <\/ol>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Problem: The system freezes (perhaps intermittently) when Image for Windows is running.
