Instead, you receive the error message:<br \/><\/p>\r\n  <blockquote><font color=\"#ff0000\">imagew has stopped working.<br \/><\/font><br \/><\/blockquote><strong><font color=\"#ff5500\">Cause:<\/font><\/strong><br \/>\r\n  <ul type=\"disc\">\r\n    <li>The Windows Data Execution Protection (DEP) feature is interfering with Image for Windows.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\r\n    <li>Comodo Antivirus\/Firewall is being used on Windows Vista SP2.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\r\n  <\/ul><strong><font color=\"#ff5500\">Solution:<\/font><\/strong><br \/>\r\n  <p><strong><font color=\"#005858\">To configure DEP:<\/font><\/strong><\/p>\r\n  <p>Exclude the Image for Windows program, <strong>imagew.exe<\/strong>, from DEP.&nbsp;Please refer to the appropriate Microsoft Help Article:<\/p>\r\n  <ul>\r\n    <li>Windows Vista: <a href=\"http:\/\/windows.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows-vista\/change-data-execution-prevention-settings?woldogcb=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Change Data Execution Prevention settings<\/a><br \/><br \/><\/li>\r\n    <li>Windows 7: <a href=\"http:\/\/windows.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows7\/Change-Data-Execution-Prevention-settings?SignedIn=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Change Data Execution Prevention settings<\/a> <br \/><br \/><\/li>\r\n    <li>Windows 8.x\/10: Use the instructions linked above for Windows 7, except in Step 1 (to open System Properties), press <strong>WinKey+X<\/strong> and then click on <strong>System<\/strong> in the&nbsp;Quick Link&nbsp;menu.<\/li>\r\n  <\/ul>\r\n  <p>First, select the option titled <strong>Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select<\/strong>.&nbsp;Then, follow the instructions provided in the section&nbsp;<strong>To turn off DEP for an individual program<\/strong> and navigate to <font color=\"#ff0000\">imagew.exe<\/font> (or <font color=\"#ff0000\">imagew64.exe<\/font>) when instructed to specify an <strong>executable file<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n  <p>By default,<font color=\"#ff0000\"> imagew.exe<\/font> is installed to the following locations:<\/p>\r\n  <ul>\r\n    <li>32-bit versions of Windows: <br \/><font color=\"#ff0000\">C:&#92;Program Files&#92;TeraByte Unlimited&#92;Image for Windows&#92;V2 <\/font><br \/><br \/><\/li>\r\n    <li>64-bit versions of Windows: <br \/><font color=\"#ff0000\">C:&#92;Program Files (x86)&#92;TeraByte Unlimited&#92;Image for Windows&#92;V2 <\/font><\/li>\r\n  <\/ul>\r\n  <p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n  <p><strong><font color=\"#005858\">Comodo Antivirus\/Firewall&nbsp;is being used on Windows Vista SP2:<\/font><\/strong><\/p>\r\n  <p>There is a problem with some versions of Comodo Antivirus\/Firewall on Vista SP2. These problems seem to be specific to SP2 as it's been reported to work correctly on SP1 as well as on Windows 7.<\/p>\r\n  <p>To work around this problem, set the properties of the Image for Windows shortcut to run Image for Windows in <strong>XP Compatibility Mode<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n  <p>Otherwise, if updating to the latest version\/build available for the Comodo&nbsp;software doesn't solve the problem, try uninstalling it.
