to Save or Restore Images to a Network Drive Using Image for DOS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In order to save or restore images to or from a network drive using Image for DOS, you will first need to add networking support to the DOS environment.\u00a0You have several options to accomplish this: <\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Create a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nu2.nu\/bootdisk\/network\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bart's Network Boot Disk<\/a>.\u00a0 This network disk is easy to set up, and there are quite a few DOS network card drivers available in one place.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Create a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.netbootdisk.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universal TCP\/IP Network Bootdisk<\/a>.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li>If you are using Windows NT 4 Server, use the Network Client Administrator under Administrative Tools to create a network boot diskette.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Use the Microsoft Network Client for MS-DOS.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>Setting Up a Boot Disk Using the Microsoft Network Client for MS-DOS:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Create a bootable DOS floppy disk, if you don't have one already.\u00a0 Please refer to the following links for further information:<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.terabyteunlimited.com\/kb\/?p=127\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How to Create a Windows 95\/98\/Me Startup Disk<\/a><br \/>\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.terabyteunlimited.com\/kb\/?p=060\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How to Create an MS-DOS Startup Disk From Windows XP<\/a><\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Download <strong>DSK3-1.EXE<\/strong> from the <a href=\"ftp:\/\/ftp.microsoft.com\/bussys\/clients\/msclient\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft FTP site<\/a> to obtain the Microsoft Network Client for MS-DOS.\u00a0 Place the file in a folder on your hard disk that will be accessible from DOS.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Boot from the floppy diskette you created in step 1.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Run <strong>DSK3-1.EXE<\/strong> to extract its contents, which will automatically be extracted to the current directory.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Run <strong>SETUP.EXE<\/strong> from the directory you extracted the contents of <strong>DSK3-1.EXE<\/strong> to.\u00a0 The <strong>Setup for Microsoft Network Client v3.0 for MS-DOS<\/strong> screen will appear.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Press <strong>Enter<\/strong> on the initial <strong>Setup for Microsoft Network Client v3.0 for MS-DOS<\/strong> screen.\u00a0 You will be prompted to select an installation directory for the Network Client files.\u00a0 With your DOS floppy diskette (from step 1) inserted, accept the default directory, which is <strong>A:&#92;NET<\/strong>.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Select a network adapter from the list shown, or, if no appropriate adapter is listed, select the option <strong>Network adapter not shown on the list below<\/strong>.\u00a0 You will them be prompted to supply your own drivers.\u00a0 (You may be able to find a suitable driver on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nu2.nu\/bootdisk\/network\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bart's Network Boot Disk<\/a> web page, or on the web site of your network card's manufacturer.)<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Follow the prompts to complete network client setup.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p><strong>Saving or Restoring An Image to or from a Network Drive with Image for DOS:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Boot with the network-enabled DOS diskette you created.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Map the network drive on which you wish to save the backup or from which you wish to restore:<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">net use x: &#92;&#92;server&#92;share<\/span><br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Run <strong>Image for DOS<\/strong> (without rebooting).<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li>When going through the steps to create or restore the image:<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Select the <strong>File (OS)<\/strong> option on the <strong>Backup To\/Select File Access Method<\/strong> screen or the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Restore From <\/span><strong>Select File Access Method<\/strong> screen.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Supply the appropriate path:<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<blockquote><span style=\"color:
