Error Message "SVGA initialization failed" When Booting IFD/IFL Boot Media

Problem:

Upon booting the Image for DOS GUI or Image for Linux GUI boot media an error is displayed:

An error has occurred in the program.
SVGA initialization failed.

Cause:

Some newer systems, such as the Dell OptiPlex 7060, are missing support for VESA video.

Solution:

Check if a BIOS update is available for the system. It may include the VESA support needed.

Otherwise, you can use the CUI version of the program (IFD CUI, IFL CUI) or IFL GUI in frame buffer mode. Using Image for UEFI is also an option if the system supports it.
