How to Run Image for Windows Under Windows Vista or Windows 7/8.x/10

By default, Windows Vista and Windows 7/8.x/10 grant all users (even administrators) standard user privileges.  If the User Account Control (UAC) security option is enabled (the default), you will get the UAC prompt when you run Image for Windows. Click Continue or Yes to allow Image for Windows to run.

If, for some reason, the above method does not allow Image for Windows to run correctly, you can start Image for Windows in administrator mode by doing the following:

  1. Right-click the Image for Windows shortcut (or the imagew.exe/imagew64.exe file itself).

  2. Select Run as administrator from the pop-up menu.

  3. If UAC is enabled, click Continue or Yes to allow Image for Windows to run.
