Image for Windows V2

1. Download Bart's PE Builder. If you download the Bart's PE Builder ZIP package, extract it to a folder on your hard drive. Or, if you download the self-installing package of Bart's PE Builder, run it to install Bart's PE Builder.
   
   
2. Extract the contents of the IFW plugin to the plugin folder that was created when you extracted or installed Bart's PE Builder in the step above. The IFW plugin files should end up in plugin\ifwv2, because of the folder information stored in the IFW plugin archive. Ensure that this is the case.
   
   
3. Download and install Image for Windows V2.
   
   
   • If you are a registered user of IFW V2 and plan to save images to CD/DVD discs while using IFW V2 in the PE environment, ensure that your copy of CDBOOT.F35 has been converted to a full-use version before proceeding. With IFW V2, CDBOOT.F35 is automatically converted to a full-use version as soon as your registration information is entered successfully. And thereafter, if you install IFW V2 again (e.g. to update to a new version), CDBOOT.F35 automatically remains a full-use version.
     
     
4. Registered Users Only: Open the plugin\ifwv2\imagew.ini file in a text editor, and modify it so that it contains your IFW V2 user name and registration key. The required format is as follows:

   [License]
   Key=User Name XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

   Where User Name and XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX represent your own registered user name and key.
   
   Save plugin\ifwv2\imagew.ini.
   
   
   • When IFW successfully applies registration information obtained from imagew.ini, it deletes the registration information from the file. (That is, it deletes the line in imagew.ini beginning with Key=.) If you don't want the registration information deleted in this manner (e.g. if you will be running PE from a USB flash drive), be sure to enable the read-only flag on imagew.ini.
     
     
5. Copy the following files from the Image for Windows installation folder to the plugin\ifwv2 folder:

   CDBOOT.F35	Required only if you wish to save images to CD/DVD discs in the PE environment.
   CDBOOT.INS	Required only if you wish to save images to CD/DVD discs in the PE environment.
   IFW.INI	Required only if you wish to apply default settings in the PE environment, rather than selecting them manually each time.
   IMAGEW.EXE	Required in all cases (this is the Image for Windows program itself).
   IMAGEW.INI	Required only if you are a registered user and wish to apply your license information in the PE environment. (See the previous step.)
   SERVICES.INS	Required only if you wish to control services in the PE environment.

6. Optional: To make Image for Windows run automatically when you boot into the PE environment, remove the leading semicolon from the following line in plugin\ifwv2\ifw.inf:

   ;autorun_ifwv2.cmd=2,,4

7. Build and burn the ISO file as usual.
   
   
   • The IFW plugin is enabled by default.
