Restore bare metal image to Citrix XenServer

Backups with Image for windows has been flawless. But now that we've moved into the virtual server world, we tried booting from an IFL iso - within a new VM. It blows up just before the gui loads.

We're running XenServer 6.0.2. Tried several Linux templates within XenCenter. The template seems to be the key to unlocking this.

Tried IFD, no go there either. I'm thinking maybe a BartPE disc with IFW loaded...

Anyone running XenServer out there that have successively restore a bare metal backup?

If you're running within the VM then you should have no problem unless the
VM is nothing like a PC. Ensure you set it up using a processor high enough
with enough memory to support booting Linux. You may want to use the CUI
versions (either IFD or IFL) if the graphic interface won't work in that
environment.
