Hi,
I have been testing some Thunderbolt USB enclosures and NVME SSDs, but when I am BIBM Manage partitions, BIBM does not show the SSDs that are in the Thunderbolt enclosure (BIBM does "see" other SSDs that I have in other USB 3/3.1/3.2 enclosures), but the SSD *IS* visible once I boot into Windows 10.
Is there any way to get BIBM to be able to see the SSDs that are in Thunderbolt enclosures?
These are the to Thunderbolt enclosures that I have been trying:
ACASIS: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BBZT42HC
ORICO: https://www.newegg.com/orico-2579s3-bk/ ... 1DS2PZ6052
SSD: I have been mainlyu testing with a Samsung 980 Pro 1TB SSD.
Thanks,
Jim

BootIt uses the BIOS so if there is no BIOS interface, it won't see it.
Most SATA/PATA/NVMe adapters have a BIOS, newer ones only supply UEFI type, although there are some that don't.

Don't know if it would help here, but if the system has a BIOS option to fully initialize all the drives, USB devices, etc. and it's not enabled, you could enable it (or similar options if more than one) and see if it helps. The option is often disabled so the system boots faster.
Re: BIBM cannot "see" SSD in Thunderbolt Enclosure?
I made a mistake in my original post. This is my Dell Vostro laptop, which has BIU, not BIBM.
Does that make any difference re. your answers?
Paul,
I will check the BIOS.

Hi Paul,
You were correct (see attached pic). I enabled both and now I see the drive in BIU Partitions.
BTW, so I created a large single MBR partition on it, but the Samsung Magician created an empty ~100GB partition (so total 2 partitions now.
Does MBR vs. GPT partition here make a difference, since this drive is only 1TB total?

Samsung Magician may be over provisioning. You should be able to see those settings in the program.
Shouldn't matter whether MBR or GPT unless booting from it and you need a particular type. I tend to default to GPT and only use MBR when it's required.
