DOS Boot CD Not Recognized on my Dell Laptop

The BIOS on my Dell Inspiron 15 5565 does not recognize my DOS Boot CD. As a result I don't have a way to do a restore to my Windows partition from my backups. The BIOS runs in UEFI mode and the Boot Menu when I hit F12 when booting does not recognize my CD. I can pop this CD into other computers and it will boot in DOS mode.

I'm sure I'm not the only owner of a Dell Laptop using Terabyte. I can't afford to have the latest Windows 10 update trash my PC and no means to a restore.

texdawg,

This explains your issue...

"Image for DOS (IFD) will not boot on UEFI systems configured in UEFI mode. To boot on these systems Secure Boot must be disabled and you must enable or use Legacy mode."

But it is easier to use IFL, IFU or TBWinRE/PE boot media as they can boot in UEFI mode.

On my system, IfL is much faster than IfD. It would be nice if IfL
were packaged in BIBM rather than IfD

Mission accomplished!

I successfully created a TBWinRE/PE boot CD and it works great.

Thanks Terabyte Unlimited.
