Booting Windows 10

I have Windows 10 on an SSD as my operating system and installed BIBM on a HD after I had been using the computer for a while.
I thought I could just create copies of the 3 Windows partitions on the SSD onto the HD and then have a normal boot menu item point to the copy of the "System Reserved" partition and thus boot from the HD, like it does on the SSD.
When I do this I get the Windows 10 startup screen (black background, central green 4 paned window and the circular loading image in the lower centre of the screen) but that it is a far as it goes. The screen looks like it is loading but doesn't make any progress beyond that.
I've switched off "Fast Startup". Any help would be appreciated, .
