Why I love system restore

I know many hate it and many do not use it when one has excellent
backup programs, but I find it very handy. I just had to use it 30
mins ago.
I backup at least once a week. Restoring a backup is not my first
choice of trying to fix my win 7 x64 install.
1) I should really backup daily (may start to do it after this*)
2) My install is so big restoring would take a long time
So, what happened. I don't know but suddenly, win 7 got BSOD and would
not boot as that would fail with BSOD. Bootup repair did not fix it.
Last backup 7 days ago.
System restore took 5 mins, did not mess with my data and worked. That
is why I like it and use it. Fast and handy (ooer).
*Out of deference to some friends here, I will NOT mention how handy
it would be to be able to tell what type of backup files (incremental
and diff) are which when one has a mixture in a folder
