How can we tell if it is working? I tried /logl:10 but the log was no different.

you can't other than seeing the /wco was passed - maybe different in speed -
I'd suspect in many cases it be much slower, in a few special cases where
you restore over basically the same thing, it may be faster?

In my test computer with a 4 minute restore it was 1 second faster. The only file changed since the full image was created was a text document.

How can you tell "other than seeing the /wco was passed"?

In my main computer a 600 MB differential restore takes the same time as one not using the switch. I think this is a fantastic switch for SSD restores.

Some interesting numbers. I restored a Win8 image and 26.0 GB was reported as written to the SSD. I restored the same image with the /wco switch and 0.2 GB was reported as written to the SSD. A big difference in writes.

Tried it again. Only 0.1 GB written to the SSD on this occasion.

Speed was fine. In fact using restore with /v and /vb, total time with /wco was 9 seconds faster than without the switch. I've tried /wco many times now and the speed is always the same as restores done in the past without using the switch.

It was added as a GUI option in 2.84. Before that it was only on the command line.
