IFW Verification Fails

Post by bob66412 »

I have two PCs – a Win 8.1 x64 and a Win7 x64. Both have a copy of Image for Windows (x64) 2.93. Both PCs will backup the C: SATA SSD disk drive to a second internal non-SSD SATA disk subdirectory – and the backup will successfully complete “Validate byte-for-byte” after the backup. I have Virtualization turned on in the BIOS on both PCs –and Settings, PhYLock/VSS, “Use VSS When Available” is checked. Also, “Backup Options”, “Disable TRIM” is checked.

My neighbor also has two PCs – a new WIN 8.1 x64 and an older Windows 7 x64. Both also have Image for Windows (x64) 2.93 installed. And both take the C: SATA SSD disk drive backup to a second internal non-SSD SATA disk subdirectory. But neither will successfully complete “Validate byte-for-byte” after the backup. Similar to my PCs, Virtualization is turned on in the BIOS on both PCs –and Settings, PhYLock/VSS, “Use VSS When Available” is checked. Also, “Backup Options”, “Disable TRIM” is checked. Any ideas as to why the verifications are not successful?

Thanks.

These are the articles that apply:

Run through those, and after running a memory test, then chkdsk /f, and
still problem, try phylock, then try outside of windows using Image for
Linux. That will narrow it down to something in windows altering it or
something in hardware. (also RAID exists, ensure to run a consistency check
or verify and fix - whatever that windows based utility installed for it
will want to call it.)

I'll be traveling this coming week, so I'll try your suggestions when I get next weekend and post what I find.

Thanks.
