multiple operating systems & multiple systems

Post by gwald »

hi - I am very familiar with BIBM, creating, restoring and manipulating images.

Now I would like to manage dozens of test systems from a central location and store their unique images (windows and Linux) on a server. With images on a central server, I would like to be able to easily push down the unique images to the test systems and change them easily, again, from a central location.

My question is, does the OSD tool suite support something like this, and if so, is there an example that I could look at to understand how it works?

thx

That's not what it's for. What you'd want is something such as using your
management software to launch scripts or apps to setup for and start the
restore (psexec (Microsoft) is available to launch things remotely as
well) - . PXE is available with IFL -
http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/kb/article.php?id=597 so if you have
management software with WOL you could have it boot that. SSH is available
to connect to it.

There is also the ability to boot IFL without a boot disk -
http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/howto/ that could be pushed down and setup
then launched.
