booting to different os on a reboot

is there a record that can be selected which controls which partition is booted. it seems that the rules are the last os booted is the one that will be booted. and of course adding a timer is a nice way of getting an automatic boot to that partition.

but i would like to be able to control which boot. specifically, i have 2 window os, and centos. and i would like to be in one of them, edit the bootitm.ini file (if that has the selection). do a reboot and voila- i am in the other place.

this is a wonderful way to select if you happen to be doing remote stuff on the active partition.

i reviewed the bootitm.ini and found nothing useful. and i looked at several of the other files. sooo. which file should i be editing to do this nice remote trick.

BootNow will do that for you.

didnt see anything on doing it from linux. only windows.

and related question. is bootnow the only way of doing it? is the code for bootnow available?
