USB Boot Menu to include mult-os across multi-paritions

Post by snoop911 »

I would like to add a new partition to my usb thumb drive, which will contain several bootable ISOs. The existing partition is a bootable OS as well (ChromiumOS Vanilla).

I 've tried several open/freeware applications (rufus, WiNToBootic, etc), but they are either too complicated or the boot menu does not show all the OSs in both partitions.

Can bare metal add bootable isos to a new partition on the usb, and install a boot manager that will see not only these ISOs, but the ChromiumOS on the other partition?

Thanks!

you'd set them up in their own partitions, BIBM isn't invasive, it's out of
memory as soon as you boot, whereas anything attempt to boot ISO are going
to be hooking certain INT's and taking up memory trying to hide itself in
memory maps.

So would bare metal's USB boot menu work for me? (Assuming I can somehow create the 2 partitions)

Or is attempting to boot from Isos and/or from a USB thumb drive not supported?

I did not find it possible to partition an 8 GB SD card.
May be the same with a thumb drive.

Maybe it's time to use DOS again and have a choice of which
one you want to boot from?
