Hi,
I have four data partitions on a drive in my PC. All my OSs are on
another drive. I have been resizing and moving my partitions and all
went well until the last stage which is resizing one of the last
partitions. I cannot resize it at all, error #47 pops up. I have all
the data safe so I could vape the partition and create another one,
but where is the fun in that?
I loaded my main partition and the drive was not displaying properly
in explorer - as a full drive, it should have had a red bar going all
the way to the right. I ran chkdsk on the drive and it displayed
properly and I found I could then resize the partition.
This episode begs the question about how effective the BIBM "checking
for errors" process is. It is clearly not as effective as chkdsk and I
would expect it to be just as good as there is no real point in having
it. I also recall that one is often advised to use chkdsk to fix
errors. So can the BIBM error checking be significantly improved?
