Image for Linux is also UEFI bootable.

No luck with TBWinRE but I'll keep experimenting. At least I have a
workaround.

An IFL UFD created in my 64 bit OS won't boot in the tablet. The 64 bit OS shouldn't make a difference with IFL?

Email from Paul. He's resolved the TBWinPE non boot issue.

For the IFL issue, creating the UFD from a 64-bit OS doesn't matter. What may matter is which of the USB modes you select (Normal, No Partition, Partition, etc.) in the Select Target dialog.

Correction to above: The IFL boot disk currently doesn't support 32-bit UEFI booting. When I made the comment above, I had missed the fact that the tablet is a 32-bit system.

Disk Management for this tablet shows....

300 MB Recovery Partition
100 MB EFI System Partition
49.95 GB Win8 partition NTFS
8.00 GB Recovery Partition NTFS

At some stage in the future I'd like to delete the 8 GB Recovery Partition and create a data partition. Is this sensible and if so how could it be done? The tablet only boots from a 32-bit UEFI UFD.

then you'd just do that ... delete it then create a new partition or just
use the existing one and delete the files on it, etc..

I can't do anything with that partition in Disk Management. It has no drive letter. I can't give it a drive letter or delete it. Diskpart reports it is a Hidden partition.

I'm going to make a TBWinRE UFD with the TBOSDT files for BootIt. Does this sound a reasonable way to delete the Recovery partition and create a new partition?

Edit... It's my wife's computer and I haven't done this with an EFI system before. Hence the caution.

I presume you'd be using BootIt BM... but if you can't boot legacy then
yes, you could use the TBOSDT Pro for BootIt from your Windows boot disk.

Yesterday my wife's tablet became infected with malware. A trojan, but I didn't write down the name. Windows Defender failed to clear it as we saw a popup every 10 minutes or so about Defender quarantining malware. Eventually we ran Malwarebytes which found six malwares but with different names from the one found by Defender. Malwarebytes requested a restart. After the Asus splash screen we saw "Diagnosing your computer" and then "Attempting Repairs". Twenty minutes later there was a message about "Repair Failed". Power off and on produced the same sequence. Win8 wouldn't load.

Restoring an image saved the day! I used the TBWinRE UFD made earlier in this thread. Thanks again.

Does the Windows on the tablet have system restore? That often saves
the day with auto loading crud.
