Hi Alan,
Yes, I've seen the Plugable devices (on Amazon and their website). They, and "Uspeed" seem to be pretty good with USB 3.0. Unfortunately, I started "dipping my toes" into USB 3.0 before I knew about them, so I already have a couple of enclosures, drives, cables, and a hub. The hub that I have is not great, and I'm getting to the point that I'm thinking it's not worth trying to get it to work stably, so I'm close to deciding to get one of the Plugable hubs (probably the 7-port one). Unfortunately, for my laptop, I don't have the option of using an expansion card though ...
