Finally got myself an SSD.

With a new HDD I would always perform a full surface scan to test for bad sectors, before partitioning/use.

Is there a similar test I can do with SSD's to help make ure I don't have a duff one ?

Once any testing has been done, I plan on creating relevant partitions with the 1MB alignment option in BIBM, before installing relevant OS's (OS X (I'll be enabling new TRIM option in 10.10.4) and Windows 8.1).

Is there anything else I should do/know ?

Testing isn't the same, first you want to see if the drive manufacture has
something. Other than that, if you fill the drive, then read back, may tell
something, but internally it can be handling problems.

It's a Samsung 850 Pro, so I'll check with Samsung Magician software.

Re. filling the drive and reading back I read something about h2testw, but after googling came across a similar program called F3.

What would be your recommendation, and can you give me the command-lines I need to use (and can I do it in using a Linux Live CD or IFL CD or something else ?) ?
