Tried two drives, one with 154GB Free, the other with 216GB Free
Running as Admin
Error - The selected destination is not large enough, 169966 MiBs required.

Does it work if you use the default size (127.5 GiB)? Note that Virtual PC is limited to the default size or smaller.

When you specify the size for the VHD are you including the "GiB" (e.g. "154GiB")? If you just enter a number, like 154, it will end up 154MB, which would be too small. You could check the IFW.LOG file and see if this is what happened. The "-v0" parameter shows the size ("-v0:I:\vd.vhd,R,vhdd,154").

Something is wrong, or I do not understand how the program works, probably the later.
I set the size to 250GiB and it started working, but failed on the partition resize step. It does not seem logical this would work, as the free space I had on the drive to recover the VHD was 154GiB free. The actual size of the drive I am recovering was 80GiB, on a original partition of 214Gib.

Read this:

It would only try to resize if it had to fit a smaller space, adjust for
alignment, or you wanted to to scale larger. If you got an error, it means
something in the file system isn't proper. run chkdsk /f on the partition
to fix it then resize it manually using BootIt or do the chkdsk /f on the
source then backup again once it's cleaned up, then the resize would work on
restore.

Lets not forget all the garbage that accumulates in the two temp file
locations.

failing on the resize step is because there was an error reported - most
likely something needs to be fixed up via chkdsk /f - you could do that then
resize it manually, or backup again then restore again. The backup backs
up the system as is, even if there are some file system issues.
