I'll say. Just today activity suddenly ceased while a Firefox page was displayed and WMP was playing. The same has occurred time and again during Win 8
CPV testing, despite reinstalls. The result: the NTFS on all drives/partitions is "dirty." Chkdsk /f restores operation but some information may be lost.

See the related "NTFS Corruption" thread below for IFW-specific notes. Hybrid sleep is disabled in Windows 8 here. There is no hybrid BOOT option.

It's now called "Enable Fast Startup."

I have seen comments on "fast startup" but that term isn't evident in any power option settings here. Perhaps you can elaborate.
But we're shifting off topic, as this is not a Windows 8 forum. Thanks.

Re: UPDATE Windows 8 corruption

Been on that screen many times and missed it. ^_^ Thanks. Now disabled.
Hang/corruption occurs well into a session, so this would not seem to be the cause...but we'll soon see.

UPDATE - And we did. Corruption persists.
