Unambiguously reference disks from command line?

Post by srynoname »

Using Image for Windows 2.70 on the command line, is there any way to unambiguously reference disks? How are the normal drive numbers that Image for Windows uses generated? I assume the disk are just numbered in the order they are plugged into the system? What if I switch the e.g. SATA port a disk is connected to? Will I suddenly overwrite a disk with valuable when using a raw disks (=a complete disk) as target? Thanks!

Whatever order windows has them in (you can look in drive management)

You can also use disk signatures or drive letters if you want, see manual
for details on command line options.
