IFD Flash Drive?

Post by rks »

Hello all...

1)
I am using IFD CUI v2.69 and want to make a USB Flash. Is all I have to do is select the Flash Drive listed in the Tree to make it to that Flash Drive? Is it correct that after doing this you can see the filenames from windows explorer on that flash drive?
It will be bootable from USB correct?(my computer supports USB boot)

2)
Secondly when using IFD GUI after the agreeing to the license clause
the next window has a check box for a CD IMAGE FILE. Do I need
to have one in order to make a bootable GUI IFD disk or USB Stick?

Thanks......

Yes, just select the USB flash drive you want to install to.

You will be able to see the files on the drive afterwards, although in
some cases, you may have to remove and reinsert the USB flash drive
before Windows recognizes it again (as the on-screen instructions say).

If you don't check the "CD Boot Image Files" option, the IFD boot disk
itself will still be bootable, but you won't be able to create
*bootable* restore discs (CD/DVD) from IFD. In other words, you could
still create a restore CD/DVD from IFD, but it won't be bootable unless
you check that option.

That option is primarily intended for when you want the IFD boot disk to
be on a floppy diskette. IFD (GUI) won't fit on a standard 1.44 MB
floppy if you check that option (it will fit on a 2.88 MB floppy if you
have one).

You might also be able to use a SD card in an external
reader. The Rosewill USB 3 reader that NewEgg sells can boot
IFL on a SD card on my computer where the internal card
reader will not. Don't know about other kinds of card.
