Enhanced compression

I noticed that the warning about the enhanced compression routines not having been optimized for speed is still present.

Are these routines ever going to be optimized? Is there any point to still having them as options?

Just wondering...

But the warnings have been present for years IIRC. It just takes the
polished edge off an outstanding product. I would respectfully suggest
removing the 'unenhanced' modes or get enhancing LOL.

I don't remember the details but a while back I ran all of the options on one partition and decided that I would not use the standard but the first compression choice as it seemed to give the best balance between additional compression and additional time. The last two didn't really give significantly better compression, but took much longer. I'm not sure if that would always be true. It might make a difference what kind of data was in the partition, but you could run some tests and check it. I'm glad to have the one compression choice available.

Don't get me wrong, so am I. However, leaving a message in that has
been there for a long time is just like saying 'we cannot be bothered
to do this' and looks unprofessional and amateurish.

Sort of like my notes to clean the basement and fix the tool shed. At least I should hide them where no one else can see how long ago I wrote them.

If they do not crumble to dust when you move them LOL.

Seriously, 7-zip is open source and can use multiple cores.
