Image for DOS - MakeDisk

Hi,

For some reason I cannot create a boot up recovery disk using the MakeDisk utility.

I create an ISO file and save it to the hard disk.

Winzip tries to open the ISO file and says that it's an invalid archive. No file has been created.

The process seems so simple, but it doesn't work for me.

Could someone please advise the correct method of creating a recovery disk?

When you tried to create an IFD CD did you choose the drive letter of your burner? Don't choose CD/DVD.

Yes I've done what you suggested, the only thing that was written to the CD was a file called desktop.ini.

If you create an ISO, use BURNCDCC to burn it, but instead of doing that,
just select the actual cd/dvd/bd drive and it will burn it for you. You
won't see any files on it, but it's still bootable.

You can't see the IFD files on the CD from Windows Explorer. Does the CD boot into IFD?

How do I create an ISO from using the MakeDisk utility?

No the CD doesn't boot into IFD.

Have you tried using a USB flash drive?

No I haven't tried a USB flash Drive.

I've worked out the issue.

I'm using Windows 7, so therefore I need to create a TeraByte WinPE Boot Disc containing
Image for Windows (TBWinPE).

The process to create this disc seems rather complex.

Check your BIOS boor order or use the boot device selection menu the BIOS
may give you. Dell is typically F12, Intel boards F10, others F8, or some
other Fn

Maybe I'm missing something here, but why create an ISO? As Terabyte Support said above, just burn the CD with Makedisk. It's not that complex when done that way.
