hi
i use mosly image for windows to create images , and image for linux to restore them because it's blazing fast

in past i have used many program , but terabyte for me it's the best

i have seen [others offer] trim the ssd before restore an image , but is there a sense to do it? is it worth to do it?

has terabyte to implement such feature?

about trim before restoring an image ->"it cannot trim sectors that were in use by the previous, now overwritten, filesystem. Without the pre-restore trim, these sectors would erroneously remain allocated."
thanks

you can if you want, you can use partwork via the wipe entire drive option
where trim/discard support exists (it will be on there) before the restore
or anytime after the fact on supported partitions via the trim button (trims
unused areas of the partition). The trim option won't show up for things on
RAID or other controllers, just the normal controllers.

I checked 2 different SanDisk SSDs and I couldn't find "trim/discard" while running through the Wipe options. Does that mean the SSD doesn't support "trim/discard"?

Edit... Is it Linux Discard?

So you have it under "hardware" if that is available (dos/linux/etc.) or
unique under linux is also a "linux discard" option.

Edit... Is it Linux Discard?

UEFI system. I'm using IFL, PartWork. Wipe Entire Drive. In the Wipe Pattern window I have a "Linux Discard" choice. Then two options, Discard (Unsecure Trim) or Secure Discard (Secure Trim).

If I choose Secure Trim I get "Linux reports this operation is unavailable or has been disabled". Unsecure Trim works.

Unsecured Trim is your normal Trim,

Secure Trim is similar to secure erase followed by Trim. It's part of industry standards.

Hi
may i ask a question?
unserucre trim performs a wipe byte by byte of the entire drive ,and it's slow
secure trim performs a fast and quicky wipe?
thanks

No, unsecure trim is a normal trim, happens almost instantly.

Secure trim does what is similar to secure erase followed by trim.

Normal wiping methods are unpredictable on these type of drives so they have
options in the firmware.
