can image for linux create an drive image of osx sierra ?

you should disable core storage if backing up on the imac. If HFS+ it will
do the data only sections, otherwise it would backup the entire partition.

hi
i will use the usb stick to boot
what is the core storage
the file system is a clean install of sierra
can i use the option when i restore "write change sector only" ?
and can i restore to a smaller or bigger driver (ssd) ?

Core Storage is something apple added in one of their updates, you will need
to disable that to be successful with restoring.

HFS+ is support for data only but not for resizing of file access.

i have tried to restore an image , but the drive doesn't boot anymore
i have create a full back up and a full restore
have to edit/change the global settings ?
i have used the last version of image for linux

You need to disable core storage before the backup and do an entire drive
backup and entire drive restore.

i got it
but in global option there is windows mbr and other option for windows
even if i use other software should i disable core storage ?
just because i want to create an image before use imac
in short the imac is new ,never used , it never start , i want to create an image and after start it up for the first time

Core storage is like dynamic drives in windows, or lvm in linux. They are
very OS specific. Provided everything is restore in the exact same location
with same guids and signatures and state information isn't stored in nvm
then it should work, but disabling core storage ensures it's dealing with
normal partitions in the gpt.

If you have mbr partitions for things like bootcamp you definitely want core
storage off and need to use the GPT Hidden from OS when restoring that
windows partition.

you can also always do a raw sector by backup of the hard drive which will
be quite large however.

If you've never booted, how do you know it boots.

i have disabed Core storage ,but image for linux can't create an image of my ssd , it freezes with gathering informations.... i had to hard reset my machine
i have used 3.11 last version
what's wrong?
