Can't open files backed up with Linux 2.99

Post by JoRene41 »

I created two backups of my system using the IFL, both to an external hard drive. Both were successfully backed up, but when I double click on the files, it says I need to insert "media 1" and then says it can't open the file. There is only one file and it is the one I clicked on. Don't understand why it won't open. I'm not sure if this would also prevent me from using the file for a restore. Please help

Thank you in advance.

I discovered the problem. For some reason the files did not have the correct permissions for me to open them. I added myself to the list of permissions and the files will now open. Why doesn't IFL automatically assign the permissions when IFD and IFW does?

Thank you.
