Problem with scheduled task in Win10 AU (build 1607)

Post by Kenneth_Olson »

I set up a scheduled task in IFW v3.03a as described in the documentation and website knowledge base.
The task is configured to run under an administrator account, whether the user is logged in or not and configured to run with highest privileges.

The task fails to start and the error message shown in the task scheduler is error code 0x800710E0 – the requested operation requires elevation .

If I modify the task so that it "runs only when user is logged in" then the task runs successfully.

I’m running Windows 10 Anniversary Edition (build 1607).

Some searching on the web implies that this issue has impacted some other products – any idea what needs to be changed in order to allow use of "whether user is logged in or not"?

Thanks,
Ken

Version 3.04 works around the windows problem. But in any case, all IFW tasks in Win10 AU need to be manually edited and change the "configure for" (it's on the first tab) to be Windows 10.
