IFW_Backup Batch File Scripts

Post by TAC109 »

Some time ago I mentioned my automatic backup batch file, IFW_Backup, and some of you expressed interest in it. I have just finished documentation and testing, so here it is.

You can download it from this url:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37301092/IFW_Backup.zip

Edit: 16-Nov-2011 - updated to 3.01
Edit: 23-Nov-2011 - updated to 3.02
Edit: 25-Nov-2011 - updated to 3.03, and version number removed from zip file name to make updating simpler.
Edit: 03-Dec-2011 - updated to 3.04
Edit: 21-Dec-2011 - updated to 3.05

Edit: 16-Nov-2011 - updated to 3.01 - fixed 2 minor bugs - see the Read_Me.txt file for details

I've deleted the file from the first post, as it is simpler if you just use this url:-
(Edited to remove url - see first or last post for the current version.)

I've added some enhancements to these IFW_Backup batch scripts.

- Added 'Display backup statistics' to the Options menu.
- Added 'Adjust drive letter in control files' to the Options menu.
- Changed the internal backup definition value to look more natural,
as it is used in the display of statistics. The control files
will be updated automatically on the first run of this version.
- Changed the order of some items in the Options menu.
- Added an item to IFW_Env.cmd to support the statistics display,
and changed the order of some items to be more logical.
(Run IFW_Env_Update.cmd to update your IFW_Env.cmd file(s).)

Ok.
How would we handle future updates?

the link you give would be an external link, perhaps behind something like
one of the tinyurl types?
