IfW.log

Post by DrTeeth »

Would it be possible for the output of IfW to be appended to the
*beginning* of IfW.log rather than the end? I have taken to having a
shortcut for IfW.log on my desktop and checking it each day, I backup
daily at shutdown. As the file gets longer, it gets increasingly
tedious to scroll to the end. The current work around is to delete the
file every week or so.

If output cannot be appended to the beginning of the log file, having
it to be deleted by IfW would be a satisfactory work around, viz an
option to delete every days.

DrT,

I had the same problem until I discovered the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-End. Problem solved.

You could specify a small log file size using "LogMaxSize" to keep it short (the default is 1MiB). The size is available in Settings also.

Thanks for reminding me of that one Brian. I keep on forgetting that
the keyboard has other uses other than just entering text.

Thank you. If it is possible, a setting that would specify the number
of backup entries would be more useful than one that specifies the
file size. Even better would be the option of having one or the other
.
