IFW Notify

Post by buzzword »

How do I reset the IFW Nofy massages and/or log?

I've taken 7 backups, with one failure back in February (2 months ago). Every time I log in IFW Notify is red with a backup failure message.

Once I've opened the window and seen that a given backup failed I don't need to be reminded of it forevermore. In fact it makes we want to ignore the message because I don't want to have to open that app window every time I log in, which means I may miss a failure message about the most recent backup.

I've tried removing the failed backup info from log.txt, but it seems IFW Notify uses some sort of summary log, because it's still glowing red and the failed backup line is still in the windoe.

It's incredibly frustrating.

Just click on the icon to bring up the log. If you're using the older
version, some systems had permissions issues for all access on creating the
key, the version included with 2.95 adjusts that.

The response says "just click on the icon to bring up the log", but no further information about how to "adjust" the summary log. Empirically, left clicking the icon brings up the contents of the summary log, but the only action available is to Open Full Log and left clicking on a log entry does nothing. Right clicking the icon brings up options, but there is no option in the settings window to "reset the IFW Nofy massages and/or log" (sic) as requested by the OP.

I, too, am interested in changing the output of Notify. Specifically, I would like to limit the retention of summary log entries to a fixed number or date span since I create a new entry every day. Can this be adjusted in Notify or is there some other control over the contents of the summary log?
