Increase Windows Partition Size

I have a win 7 system with 2x 1TB hard drives. The drives (NTFS) have been set up as follows:

C: 78.1Gb --> free 5.21GB/ Used 72.9Gb (Windows partition)

E: 853Gb --> free 379Gb / Used 473Gb

D: 931Gb --> free 84.5 / used 847

I bought BootIT NG a couple of years ago and never used it as I did not feel confident to move partitions! Unfortunately it is becoming critical that I solve my lack of space on C: drive.

Any suggestions?

Ivymart,

What size would you like the C: drive to be?

http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/howto/ has a sample resizing video - but
I'd suggest upgrading to BootIt Bare Metal.

If your Windows is x64 you may need to use BIBM instead for
that partition.

Ivymart,

Upgrade to BIBM. When you create the CD make sure you select Align partitions on 2048 Sectors.
View the videos on How To
Resize the 853 GB partition 23 GB smaller
Slide the new 830 GB partition so there is zero Free Space After
Resize the OS partition to the Maximum

?

All BIBM/BING sees is an NTFS partition - the 'bittiness' of the
contents is irrelevant AIUI.

When I wanted to resize the C drive on my new laptop, I had
to use Windows 7 to resize. Don't remember the specifics
now, though.

BING could not do it, though.
