It's been a while, but I think the process of restoring in BING may have actually included clicking a PASTE button.

I ended up shrinking/copying the storage partition (which contained the image of the C: drive) that was preventing me from pasting the image, to an external hard drive then deleted the original, restored the C: image (which had 30GB of data in a 500gb partition) to the whole disk , resized it to a reasonable 100gb, then copied the storage partition back, deleted the old C: image and created a new one with smaller dimensions. I hope that made sense, it probably did to you people who know what needed to be done..

Glad you got it sorted. I don't know if the 'compact' function (used
when making an image) would have helped.
