Undelete Partition

Post by Mike »

How long should it take for BING (1.81 - not sure why I grabbed that one instead of 1.87) to undelete a partition on a 300GB drive? It's been running for two days, and the progress bar is moving, but if it's supposed to be quicker, I'd like to know before wasting another day.

The partition was created by Windows, and BING is not installed on the drive.

I've never used the Undelete function before.

why would you use an old version - if it's going to find it and it was at
the start of the drive it would take a couple of seconds. If it's been
wiped (no boot sector) then it won't find it (won't find it if the boot
sector has the wrong information as well). You'd be better off trying with
BIBM which is a little more forgiving where partitions exceed the drive
size.

I used what I had handy since I was in a hurry to leave for the office. I have to make a bootable disk for BIBM.

It ran for 3 days, and it did not recover the partition. The drive was good as I was able to format it. It passed the Seatools Tests and Spinrite.
