I see I can manually add names to any partition in BIBM through the Work wih Partitions dialog and those names are then retained when I setup my boot items. That is a nice feature I do appreciate. I have done that in order to identify my partitions in BIBM.

Still, considering disk labels have been used to visually identify partitions for a long time now, it does seem that BIBM should be able to pick up the disk labels and use them initially in BIBM as the partition name for any type of partitiion. Then if the BIBM user wants to change the internal name BIBM uses for a partition he can do so without changing the disk label in any way.

Thanks for pointing out to me that I can manually label partitions in BIBM.

I've been using BING/BIBM for a long time and all logical volumes were created and labelled in BING/BIBM. I stopped using logical volumes a few years ago as I found unlimited primaries easier.
