Plain,
I had the same problem with my Gigabyte board (GA-MA74GM-S2) and a Logitech wireless mouse. It turned out I had to revert to an older BIOS as when Gigabyte updated the BIOS the new version would not support a wireless mouse. I am now ready to upgrade to a new system and was contemplating an Asus and Gigabyte board and will most likely choose the Asus board because of this issue. I would have a hard time trying to use BIBM without a mouse. However, I didn't try using a regular USB mouse as I didn't have one anymore and didn't want to go out and buy one.

I have had Asus boards which work with BIBM with a mouse and some
which didn't. It's a lottery. If I could find out in advance, it would
be a deciding factor in choosing a new board. BIBM without a mouse?
Shudder!
