USB2 HD not recognized by BootIt

Post by nehoc »

I updated my BootIt NG to BM to solve recognition USB2 drives. Unfortunately I have not desired results :
- USB3 drives (2) and USB2 drives with additional interface eSATA (2) are well recognized.
- but USB2 drives (4) are not recognized and I can not change the partitions.(the discs are Western Digital "Elements" (2 2TB and 1TB) and one another 1TB with a USB external interface).

The tests were performed on 2 laptops (ASUS and FUJTSU-SIEMENS) and all USB options in settings were set in BootIt.
Does anyone know the reason for this malfunction?

If you're seeing USB3 drives on USB3 controllers then you're probably using
the "BIOS" option which is typically (on the latest computers) only going to
see the one attached at boot. Otherwise, if using the USB bus option, are
you plugging the devices in to the same ports as the others using the same
cable?

I tested the USB disks by plugging one at once.
When I set the "USB BUS" option in BootIt settings, the system hangs.
When I connect 3 hard drives on the 3 USB ports of the computer, only those recognized separately are detected.
The result is the same if I plug the disk before powering or when BootIt is running.

Hello,
I have not received an answer to my problem. Is it possible that I am the only one in this case? I did the test on three different brands of laptops microcomputers and neither recognizes the USB 2 drive.

Does the BIOS see those USB drives? For example, do they show up in the boot order or boot menu as valid drives?

Hello
The bios is "American Megatrends".
On the first page there are the messages :
"Initializing USB Controllers .. Done "
"USB Mass Storage Devices Autodetecting ..
Device # 01 :"

Then from there, the behavior depends on the type of drive connected:

- The self-powered usb disk "Samsung S1 mini" 250 GB is consistently recognized by the bios. The message "01 USB mass storage devices found and configured" is displayed.
- The disk "USB WD Elements" 2TB is not recognized: the microcomputer hangs upon detection remaining on display "Device # 1 :" above.
But if the microcomputer is rebooted with this disk, while it was turned off in the presence of S1 mini, it detects the disk with the same message as the S1. But, after a second reboot, it does not recognize it and hangs.

But in all these cases, BootIt does not detect the disks.
