Only 640x480 @ 16 Colors with BIBM (BING works!)

Hi,
I've got an old Compaq iPaq Desktop PC (P1-1GHz, 512MB RAM, Onboard VGA).
With BIBM, I can only choose 640x480 with 16 Colors, which looks pretty ugly.. I can't select any other resolutions or colors, as there is only 640x480x16 shown :(
Is there some way to get more colors at least?

With BING, it works fine! All colors and resolutions are available and usable. Is there some problems with detection of the video card?

BING uses same thing only 256 color mode 640x480 by default.
