NEWBIE USER HELP PLEASE

Post by rjsagel »

Hello,

I bought a registered version yesterday. I installed it and read the manual. I am confused about how to use the system. I tried to set up two Operating systems on my computer
but wound up with major problems getting to each partition. I put the system back as before with ACRONU. I have BMB installed on my system and it boots WIN 7 OK.
My info is as follows:
Two SATA hard drives
Present setup is Win 7 64 bit on HD0 - 1 terrabyte drive designated as C:
HD1 is a 500 gig SATA drive set up as D: - used for data

I want to keep my WIN 7 on the HD0 and install WIN XP on the HD1 drive. I then want to use BMB to select my startup system.

How do I go about this?

Thanks in advance,
Ron Sagel

Hi, Ron.
Welcome to the forums. I've used TB products for years and still use
them regularly to boot Windows or one of several flavors of Linux.
As a start, go to the Support / Knowledge Base section on the
terabyteunlimited.com website. Sounds like you've already installed Win
7 and just want to install XP on another drive. Read the KB articles on
your subject. The one gotcha is that when you select the XP boot
partition, you need to hide the Win 7 partition so XP can't see it.
Windows gets confused when the OS sees two similar OSs on the same machine.
Also look at partitioning your drives setting up a data partition that
can be used by either OS. A side benefit is that each partition can be
separately backed up if you so desire.

see http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/kb/article.php?id=169

also, you'll probably need an AHCI driver added - see last item at
