push EMBRM to end of drive

Well I finally used Bare Metal I bought about 10 days ago ... it certainly is more polished than Next Gen. At the same time I changed my ssd from 60G to 128G and plugged it straight into HD0 instead of HD1. At the moment the ssd, HD0, is merely holding the EMBRM, directing my original HDD xp start. I let BIBM choose the partition and it put EMBRM at the start of the drive, whereas I've always had it at the end with BING. Probably doesn't matter but I'd prefer to keep it at the end so what is the easiest way to jump it to the end ?

You should just need to boot to the BIBM boot media and slide the partition to the end of the drive.

This could be a silly question ... the term is "slide" but I assume it actually jumps, am I right ? This wasn't an issue with HDD but to maintain ssd peak performance it's best to not write when not needed. If BIBM was to actually write & delete all the way from the front to the back of the ssd, I'd need to secure wipe most of the ssd.

I thought with BING I set the EMBRM to the end of disk when created, or align high or something like that after created. It was 5 years ago when I set it up and can't remember, does this make sense, or are there no such options there ?

Slide will move the partition (the "data only" option is fine). The space between isn't written to. It's like a "move" within the unallocated space block.

With BIBM you need to specify the "Free Space Before" or "Free Space After" values when creating a partition. For example, 0 free space after on an empty drive would place the new partition at the end of the drive. You can do this when installing BIBM if you select to create the partition manually.

I now like the partition to be at the start of the disk because it tends to use 8MB or so which otherwise tends to end up unused, but ...

You could allocate the partition at the end of the disk and then choose it manually when installing.

Given where you are now, I expect you could use BIBM to allocate a partition at the end, then uninstall, then re-install choosing the partition you created.

Thanks guys, I used the slide to move it down the back, all seems well.

Now I have a question about the BootIt EMBRM on my HDD, which is no longer HD0. I assume it serves no purpose, Is it safe to delete ? Should I delete it ?

It should be fine to delete it.
