BootIt not consistently seeing an M.2

I recently installed a Intel 600p PCIe m.2 into my system. I am booting into a SATA-based Samsung SSD into BootIt partition. The problem is that BootIt does not always see M.2 -- sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't; I haven't discovered a pattern. However, when I do enter directly enter the BIOS interface, and boot the Samsung SSD from there, the M.2 is consistently seen by BootIT.

I would greatly appreciate any insights into the cause of this problem. Thank you.

Is it possible the drive is not always being fully initialized during the normal booting process? There may be an option in the BIOS skip devices to save time, for example. Could be a difference of a device showing on different types of boots. Like only on warm boots or only on cold boots, etc.

You could also check if there is a BIOS update available -- may provide better support for those types of drives.
