Help with Recalc V-CHS Action Button

In the work with partitions dialogue, and selecting partition properties on an extended partition type:15/Fh , there appears an action button at the bottom or the screen labeled "Recalc V-CHS". This action does not appear to be documented in the manual.

Can you give a brief description of what this action accomplishes?
