Drive impossible to hide

Hi,
I have a second HDD, one partition Ntfs. I cannot hide it!
Bibm fails, testdisk, partguru, mbrwiz etc.. (they all say: hidden but when I (re)boot with the main HDD > not hidden! Of course I (re)boot via Bibm). I have also tried from a floppy boot of course> no joy.
Any idea? Some infection could be responsible?
Thanks

You may just need to remove the MountedDevices entry for the drive so Windows stops "seeing" it.

For example, if the drive letter assigned to the hidden partition is E:, you would run the Registry Editor (regedit), browse to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices" key and delete the entry for the E: drive (\DosDevices\E:). Then reboot.

run the setwindl.tbs script and remove the drive letter or do it in windows,
or see #5 at http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/kb/article.php?id=517

Thanks. But this is a 'Windows' way to hide it.
I would like to perform the operation at a low level stage.
Do the methods you give me act at a low level stage ?? (I think there is a flag to change somewhere at the beginnig of the disk ...).
When Bibm hides a disk, is it by modifying the Windows registry??
THks, P.

Windows can and will ignore the "hide" flag for the partition. So, the partition can be marked hidden and Windows will still assign a drive letter. This happens because Windows has previously assigned a letter to the partition and recognizes it. You have to make Windows "forget" the drive so it doesn't assign the letter. Changing the "hide" flag on the partition won't fix this problem.

If that's not the issue, can you provide more details on how BIBM is configured for the boot item that has the problem? Are you using unlimited primary partitions?
